In my opinion, the statement made by the boy is true, because drinking affects people's medical condition and it destroys their lives.
First of all, alcohol is dangerous for our health because of what it contains.It is ok to drink on very special occasions, but consuming too much on a daily basis causes different diseases, such as heart problems, and it can also affect our brain and even our emotional state (there are some people that end up having depression because of drinking). Not only this, but some might not have the money to afford drinking too much alcohol, and the may end up having a lot of debts to pay and even worse (if they ask different strangers for money).
So yes, drinking can totally kill people.
